As you may remember, I had posted an entry awhile back about albums that I was anticipating for the rest of the year. One of those albums was the new Shiny Toy Guns album, ‘Season of Poison’. Over the last number of years, the fanbase for STG has been growing and growing, pulling in a variety of music lovers from all sorts of genres. They have toured, extensively, thoroughout North American and parts of Europe. Their shows are smaller, more intimate, and full of energy and songs we can all… Read more »

P!nk! That’s who!
Check this out:
[Audio clip: view full post to listen]
Seriously, how can you say anything but, “well damn, that song is pretty frickin’ amazing”?
That’s right! You can’t!
This song, produced by the amazing Max Martin, recently leaked, and is now getting major play; which is no surprise, because it is, say it with me… amazing! I for one, am glad that P!nk is coming back with what, if this song is any indicator, will be a contender for album of the year. I can’t wait for her new record, which… Read more »

Although I rock my iPod in the car with a radio transmitter, when I originally bought the car I was stoked it had a 6 disc in dash changer and a Mach audio system factory installed. Since the iPod boomed soon after I pretty much abandoned the cd player, but I do keep cds in it for when I’m just running a small errand or forget my iPod so I still have some jams. A few weeks ago I realized I was over all the cds I had in it,… Read more »

Last week Madonna released her latest maxi-single, Give It 2 Me. With eight remixes to choose from, there was bound to be a few that I took a shining to, and luckily, I was right!
I’m having a hard time deciding whether I prefer Eddie Amador’s House Lovers Mix or Tong & Spoon’s Wonderland Mix. I had read that the House Lovers mix was the only to incorporate my favorite part of the song - the “Get stupid” breakdown, but imagine my delight when I heard our Lady telling me to… Read more »

Kylie’s new video for “The One” just popped online this morning. I have to give credit where credit is due.
Let me start by saying that I hated this song when the album came out, along with “Cosmic” it was skipable, every time. But her record company got it right by setting the video (and hopefully the single?) to the Freemason’s remix which gives it the treatment it needs to be a hit.
Check out the retro video, it’s pretty hot, but personally my favorites from the ‘X’ era are “Wow” and “In… Read more »

I didn’t get to post the Saturday song this week on Saturday. So sorries! At the very last moment I decided to go up to Chicago for Market Days. I uploaded the track and was going to post when I got there, but the weekend just got too crazy and I never got to sit down and do it.
I really like this song because it was one that I was introduced to in a weird way. I went to see Wall-E which was a super cute movie which was filled… Read more »

I heard this song the other day, and I have been loving it immensely, and more so with each listen. Her vocal is very pure and earnest; and the tone in her voice and the tone of the song reminds me of Shakespeare’s Sister (remember that song Stay?!?!?! Hello 1992!). Of course, it is important to note that there is no crazy villianess in this song.
Currently, Georgia has an EP out on iTunes, where most of the songs have a similarly stripped down and acoutsic feel. Her voice is the… Read more »

I’m currently on vacation, back home visiting the family and tomorrow attending a friend’s wedding. I never expected to go away and out of boredom, discover something so amazing that it caused me to break down in tears within a minute of hearing the song.
The track is by Imogen Heap and is entitled, “Hide & Seek 2″. Now for fans of Imogen, you may remember “Hide & Seek” which was used in several TV Shows and Movies. The track was found on her last album and was brilliant. This new… Read more »

I came across this little diddy a few months ago, it’s a new release by Sharam which is part of the remix/producer team “Deep Dish”. I was mostly interested in the fact that it included Daniel Bedingfield whom I’m a massive fan of. The song is a rework of Daniel’s original from his debut album “Gotta Get Thru This” with the same chorus and new verses. Sadly I don’t know what Daniel is doing these days, I read that he’s recorded several new albums but none have yet to see… Read more »
