If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a hundred times. I love Alphabeat! I discovered them when they were still indie and fell in love. My favorite song from the beginning has always been “What is Happening?” so I was uber-excited when I saw they were releasing it as a single. The video, however somehow flew under my radar. I thought perhaps there wasn’t going to be a video as they’ve just about released every song from the album and that it would be a club/radio only release as their are a bunch of great remixes for this release as well. Awhile back I reconnected with some of Robyn’s old albums, back in the day I was a fan of some of her singles, “Show Me Love”, etc. Recently I’ve rediscovered some of her older stuff like “Electic”, “Keep This Fire Burning” and “Psycho” from her older albums. Truly great pop stuff, even if she was being produced to the masses. Her catalog speaks masses, typing Robyn into my iTunes turns up over 130 songs, remixes, and b-sides. Wow. I have to start off by saying that I’m kinda over the pop songs referencing classics. Rihanna did it best with her S.O.S. remixes, and everything since then has been rather sub par but damn if Hilary Duff’s new single “Reach Out” isn’t hot.
