Sadly, this album cover features Silly Bands… that’s right SILLY BANDS. Therefore I cannot be bothered to post it here. Other than that, the photo of her looks pretty good. They also chose and atrocious font, but that’s neither here nor there.

I’ve instead choosen some other acceptable photos of Shakira to feature with this post (as in, any photo where she’s not wearing something ‘trendy’, such as silly bands).

Justin’s comment? It looks like an ad for a Hispanic travel agency. Nuff said.

Can you tell things are slow this week?

Wah-wah-wah. The video is about as exciting and original as the song. There’s not much more to say than that. Still pretty excited to hear the album though.

Ulf continues to remain flawless.

Very unimpressed. His first album cover wasn’t anything amazing, but definitely puts this one to shame. Looks like it took about 3 minutes to create. I’m guessing they spent the most time deciding what shade of gray to use… or maybe which basic sans serif font to use. Couldn’t possibly be anything else.

Paired with the lackluster first single, I’m a little let down with this campaign.

Release date, October 5th.

The direction of Sophie’s fourth studio album Straight to the Heart has had it’s ups and downs and this release is really just another one. Although it’s being released from Armin’s new album in dance form, I think we’ve learnt by now that tying your name to a famous remixer isn’t doing a lot for Sophie these days. We did just live through the Freemason’s era with her. I personally barely survived.

Will her new album see the light of day? Time will tell, but last we heard she had changed the release of her next single (is this three or four?) from her still unreleased album to Can’t Fight This Feeling. Which is yet another song tied heavily to a remixer (Junior Caldera) that was already released on his album months ago… you’re grasping at straws when you’re trying to rehash a song into being your own #1.

There is no doubt that Sophie has an incredible voice and is absolutely gorgeous as showcased in this video. I just think it’s a bit early to put her out to pasture as another dance artist who can’t get out a proper pop album.

… actually at this point she might as well have said fuck it and moved on. The window for releasing this video has come and past.

Of course the video plays up on her “internet” theme and seems to capitalize on clipart and 80′s inspired hair, etc.

Continuing her theme, this video is just as visually assaulting as the rest. At least this one won’t give you seizures.

Pink has unveiled an alternate version of her video Please Don’t Leave Me that is much more circus-themed than her previous version. I think she’s gearing up for some kind of ultimate tour DVD or something, having just wrapped up the Euro leg of her tour in the last few weeks. Be on the lookout for Mr. Carey Hart in the video as well.

Funny to think that this entire album project began with her single So What, which was basically describing their failed marriage. Just goes to show you how things can certainly turn around.

It’s official.

I love Robbie but his poor career is on a slow downward spiral. Luckily he has lots of hardcore fans and a lot of  fair weather fans so another Greatest Hits could be a good thing for him. Other greatest hits from the former Take That star are Greatest Hits (2004) and The Best So Far (2006) then there were Songbook (2009) which was a give away in The Mail and The Ego Has Landed which was a compilation that was his first US album so not necessarily counted.

So in case you don’t own one other those other four, you can pick up his newest In and Out of Consciousness in the UK on October 11th, or Germany on October 8th. The first single Shame features Gary Barlow, release date unknown.

It is however a double disc set, so you at least have that to look forward to. Look after the cut for the tracklisting.
