This is brilliance. And frightening. Like Heath Ledger’s performance as the Joker. Happy Monday!

Video Flashback: Ace of Base – Beautiful Morning
Posted by Shan on March 5th, 2010 | No Comments

I caught some slack in school for loving Ace of Base, since they were “so not in” and in fact at that time were already a little past their prime, but hey I didn’t care! They really did release some of the defining pop music of the 90’s.
They are actually still around still making music together and solo. A couple of years ago released some re-vamped songs which were pretty decent which included Lucky Love, All That She Wants and Don’t Turn Around. They are now working as a three piece as Linn left the group. Often times you’d see her standing in the back in photoshoots or only making short appearances in videos, like the one for Beautiful Morning below.
This video is one of the last ones they did for their last album Da Capo which came out in 2002. I love this video, it’s simple and Ulf never seems to age.
Video: Goldfrapp – Rocket
Posted by Shan on March 4th, 2010 | No Comments

It seems like we’ve been waiting for this video longer than Gaga’s Telephone. But finally, it has arrived in all it’s phallic glory. Goldfrapp’s visual take on their first single from Head First.
At first glance the video might come off as cheesy, and perhaps it is. But instead of low budget cheesy, Goldfrapp has taken the video to new levels with expensive cheese, if you will.
You could call this Allison’s coming out video, after all she is driving a big rig, and those four androgynous looking ladies aren’t helping the situation out any.
I dig the whole thing, I love where this project is going with it’s full on 80’s vibe and heavy sampling. It’s nice sometimes to not take yourself quite so seriously.
Madonna tour rumors swirl

Well, after her drummer made some comment about pairing up with the singer in the beginning of 2011, all Madge fans ears’ perked up.
Now comes a report that Australia, a severely neglected country on her massive world tours, may be getting a special treat this July for a 10-date jaunt across the country as a special thank you to all the fans Down Under.
I’m not sure if it would be a new show, a mix-mash of shows, or just another reincarnation of the Sticky and Sweet tour. But until any official word gets released, don’t hold your breath. Especially you Aussies, because…well, you’ve been holding your breath since 1993 and she’s not delivered yet. Better off just picking up a copy of the tour dvd coming out at the end of the month.
