If you were going to gauge the brilliance of the Sugababes’ sixth studio album from the title and lead single, “Girls,” you would expect all sorts of insane, fun antics. In fact, the ‘babes have been known to forge their own path in Pop music, never afraid to get their hands (or knees) dirty with their funky sounds. Trouble is the last album strayed the furthest from their unique sound and more into mainstream Pop music. Now this isn’t to say that it was a let down, but a question of whether or not the ‘babes had lost the edge that fans have come to love? Now with that being said, we believe that we have definitely been misled to believe in one sort of album, but after the disappointment dissolves, we are left with an album that is full of surprises. For Round 2 of Pop Topics, I’ll be discussing the brilliant album that was due out this month, but instead got slammed back 6 MONTHS! I know, somebody hates her (maybe it’s your GF). Familiar faces from the UK are releasing albums before year end, and I wonder if the media will stir up another rivalry that will be had out in another Aerosmith cover.
