Well, Dannii returns to her chill-out sound again for what may be the umpteenth cover of Andrea True Connection’s 1976 disco classic, “More, More, More.”
Over the last few years, some of Dannii’s singles have been remixed as slow burns, thanks to Afterlife. My favorite being the said mix of “You Won’t Forget About Me,” which got all kinds of sexy as a samba track.

On our way back from seeing Janet Jackson in concert last month Ricky asked me if I had heard Christina’s new version of “Genie in a Bottle”. All he had was the live version on his iPod but he played it for me anyways and my ears were pleased. Since then I’ve been curious to hear the real thing. Just a quick note that Lady Gaga’s album “The Fame” was released in the United States today although it’s already been out in Canada for quite some time now. We did a write up about it after it was released there because it’s so good we had to tell you about it right away. It will definitely be in my top “Albums of the year list”. Joining my ever growing list of albums out by the end of the year is Beyonce. Now before I get into this, I must say, I am more annoyed by Beyonce’s music than I have been impressed. I was a big fan of Destiny’s Child since the whole “Say My Name” era, but around the time of “Bootylicious” Beyonce became her own planet. It was only natural to see her spread her wings and try to win us over on her own. And did she ever! “Crazy In Love” was that song that could drag even the grumpiest person onto the dance floor. Today my boy’s album came out! Jon McLaughlin of course! I had the rare pleasure of running to the store at lunch and hunting down a copy. I kind of figured that he wouldn’t get to be on the front display - and I was right. I dug through the M section and at first thought that they didn’t have any, which surprised me since he’s on a major label. I have been a major fan of Will Young’s since his utterly brilliant last release, Keep On; a rare album, in that it doesn’t have one bad track on it. The combination of pop, soul, and jazz all wrapped up with a swoon-worthy voice is the hallmark of Will’s sound; one that he mixes effortlessly into well crafted, and carefully worded songs about love and loss. Will Young truly is a breath of fresh air for the pop scene, and he is about to release another potentially fantastic album.
