I never thought I’d see the day — and I’m sure neither did he, where 22 year old DJ/Producer from Melbourne would see his own EP come to fruition. It is indeed being released TOMORROW! (The 14th of NOV.2008). I couldn’t BE more thrilled.
You probably mosly know Miami Horror♥ from some pretty smashingly hot and superfresh retro inspired remixies … filled with synth, killerhooks and dancyness!
He’s remixed bands like Pnau, The Presets, Faker, Datarock, Party and Midnight Juggernauts. In the space of a year, he’s turned megastar on the interwebs and blogosphere.… Read more »

Well, Dannii returns to her chill-out sound again for what may be the umpteenth cover of Andrea True Connection’s 1976 disco classic, “More, More, More.”
Over the last few years, some of Dannii’s singles have been remixed as slow burns, thanks to Afterlife. My favorite being the said mix of “You Won’t Forget About Me,” which got all kinds of sexy as a samba track.
This recent effort is dubbed as the ‘Winter Chill Mix’ so I’m not sure if a regular mix will appear at some point or not. I will… Read more »

While randomly flipping through the television stations a few weeks ago, I noticed that everyone’s favorite eternal twelve-year-old, Mariah Carey had a new video playing on BET. Routinely bored by her recent work, but with nothing on in the afternoon hours before work, I decided to stop and take the song and video in.
I thought the song was rather decent, and decided to download it at work that night. I haven’t given so much ear space to a Mariah Carey song since the beginning of the Emancipation-era with “It’s Like… Read more »

Does anyone remember that dumb bitch that David Beckham cheated on Victoria with? That would be Rebecca Loos a.k.a. Phoenix. She has technically done some celebrity things in the past before the scandal, but I feel like she tried to launch her music career from it. Some of the bigger moments in her career include appearing in Playboy, performing fellatio on her boyfriend on an airplane and getting caught, masturbating a pig on television, a fake marriage, and then of course there was the whole Beckham thing. We could be… Read more »

Over the past couple of year, the legendary Verve record label has been commissioning leading DJs from around the world to remix some pretty amazing jazz recordings from their vaults. The results have been amazing.
With remixes of Dinah Washington, Billie Holiday, Willie Bobo and the inimitable Nina Simone, who I adore, these classic songs have been given a fresh coat of paint, so to speak.
Remixers include Thievery Corporation, Felix da Housecat, Matthew Herbert, The Postal Service (I know!), Danger Mouse, Brazilian Girls, Diplo and so many more. Currently there are… Read more »

I often have my iPod on shuffle, regardless of where I may be at that moment. Whether it be in the shower, chilling in my bedroom, driving, generally being sexy, I never know what song may become part of the soundtrack to my life.
Shuffle is great, and I regularly find myself rediscovering things I had only gently paid attention to in years past. Here I’d like to recommend some nice finds, refound during the shuffle that is my life.
Princess Superstar - Meet You Halfway (Keep It On The Alright)
from the… Read more »

There was a time in my life when I was instantly intrigued if I saw the name Peter Rauhofer attached to any project. Such was the case when his remixes for Inaya Day’s cover of Vanity 6’s “Nasty Girl” were serviced. I knew the song was a cover, but had never fully heard the original track, and thus, fell deeply in love with Inaya’s version.
Two mixes were released by Rauhofer: Rauhofer’s Sleaze Mix [8:17] and Peter’s Reconstruction [9:49]. Both productions were epic, industrial treats to my ears, but it was the… Read more »

In the third day of my Janet extravaganza, I present to you Ms. Jackson’s ten best dance remixes. Lady J has been getting the remix treatment ever since her first album dropped way back in 1982, with early singles “Say You Do,” and “Young Love,” both of which she’ll be performing in concert tomorrow night, but I digress.
Now, as Janet famously proclaimed in her hit single, “Nasty” - “GIVE ME A BEAT!” and let’s unveil the top ten, according to me!
